- whose traditional, low-key touch was sought for six decades
- to grace the homes of the nation's industrial and political
- barons, among them Astors, Rockefellers, Gettys, and First Lady
- Jacqueline Kennedy, who enlisted Parish's help in her redesign
- of the White House; in Dark Harbor, Maine. "What seems important
- to me," Parish once said, "is permanence, comfort and a look
- of continuity in the design and decoration of a house."
